Catastrophic Injuries

2 injured in Floyd County head-on collision

Posted Oct 12, 2018 by Matt Boulton

There are many reasons for accidents, ranging from poor weather conditions to distractions. For example, if you’re driving and can’t control your vehicle because of high winds, you could cause an accident. In another case, if you’re looking at your phone, you might not notice traffic stopping up ahead.

In this case, it’s not clear what caused the collision, but two people ended up hurt. In crashes like this, victims should remember that they have a right to pursue compensation from the party that caused the crash.

A head-on collision in Floyd County sent two people to the hospital, according to news from Nov. 15. The report states that a 2009 Ford F-150 was being driven by a 46-year-old man from Louisville on Indiana 111 when he crossed the center line. That resulted in his vehicle colliding with a 2000 GMC Sierra Pickup being driven by a 46-year-old man.

Both drivers suffered injuries and had to be extricated from their vehicles. They were fortunately wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. They were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, with the 46-year-old driver in the Ford requiring an airlift.

The investigation into this collision is ongoing. So far, the police have not suggested why the man crossed the center line.

After a crash, you need time to heal and recover physically and mentally. It’s a good idea to focus on your health, not necessarily the legal aspects of your case. Your attorney can help by taking over the insurance claim and making sure you are treated fairly.
